HORL Angle Range
You can generally achieve excellent results by sharpening with the two regular HORL grinding angles. However, for anyone with extreme demands for their knives, we offer four further angles, which open up completely new possibilities.
Stable angles
With the extra-stable 22° and the ultra-stable 25° grinding angles, you can give knives made from tough steel a robust edge. This ensures a longer-lasting sharpness for special blades that are made for heavy-duty cutting work.
Standard angles
Most kitchen knives have a cutting edge with a sharpening angle between 15° and 20°. As a consequence, you can achieve excellent results with almost any knife with these two angles.
Filigree angles
The extra-filigree 13° and the ultra-filigree 10° grinding angles make extremely precise cutting possible with blades made from hard Damascus or carbon steel. Make sure in advance that your knife is suitable for such fine sharpening.
From ultra-stable to ultra-filigree
The narrower the angle, the finer the cutting edge. By contrast, wider angles ensure a stable edge that stays sharp for longer. Whatever your requirements, you can choose the correct angle for your knife from our six grinding angles.
